Sometimes the days are long, being pregnant and all, but then I notice what the date is and I can't believe that so much time has gone by!!! August 11th already! Man! Maybe it is because this summer has felt like break-up and so I am shocked that we are almost to fall. Next thing you know I am going to wake up with a baby in a bassinet next to my bed. I feel the nesting instinct starting to come on strong.
If time isn't already passing fast enough, volleyball season has started!! I am really excited to get back and see all of my girls. This is my fourth year as the head coach at Eagle River. I have two Seniors that started with my on varsity and in that four years they have seen me get married and have one and a half kids. What a trip! Today was our first day of try-outs. I have a TON of help this year, which is awesome, and so I got to sit back and watch the girls and take lots of notes. I have 8 seniors trying out and there is no way that I can keep them all. That is when things are not so fun. I am excited for the year. We have a lot of work to do, but doesn't that always bring the greatest reward. I am coaching with awesome gals. Amy Mestas is my right hand chica. She has been coaching with me these past four years. I mention her name because most likely it will be in future blogs these next couple of months. I have two great c-team coaches and 4 volunteers, one of them being a former D1 player at UNC. She is 30 and just moved her from Cali with her husband. I am spoiled this year that is for sure!!!
If you live in town, you'll have to come by and catch one of our games. Oh, and start thinking good thoughts for an Oct. 30th delivery!! VB Regions are the 5th of Nov. and so the 30th would just be perfect! Still no names, but if you have more suggestions, keep them coming.
Love to you all!
